A belated valentine, and some funny faces

We wanted to run this following picture on Valentine's Day, but unfortunately, due to some family matters at the time, Carole Sampeck of The Lombard Archive wasn't able to access it then. Now she has, so here are Carole Lombard and "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star Robert Montgomery in a valentines' embrace, showing the glorious passion of screwball romance. As that old Sinatra song goes, "The sleepless nights, the daily fights/The quick toboggan when you reach the heights/I miss the kisses, and I miss the bites/I wish I were in love again..."

Finally, here's one more goofy face from Lombard, and you can't blame Bob for this one, since he's nowhere in sight. (It also begs the question whether Carole was ever pictured in a, uh, stronger reaction, say, one involving a middle finger.)
