'True Confessions,' August 1934: Carole Lombard -- is she man-proof now?

Three years and three months ago, we ran an entry titled "Meet the 'man-proof' Miss Lombard" (http://carole-and-co.livejournal.com/506358.html), which in part described a story on Carole Lombard that ran in the August 1934 issue of True Confessions, the wildly popular magazine. I say "in part" because at the time, all we had from the article was the lead page, a head shot of Lombard:

But that's not the case anymore, and for that you can thank Brian Lee Anderson...or should we say, thank his grandmother. Anderson, a regular contributor to the CAROLE LOMBARD!!! Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/421288827952473/), recently ran the rest of the article -- part of grandma's collection of Lombard magazines -- and granted us permission to run it.

I initially believed Anderson didn't have the final two pages of the story; it turns out he did, and he helped direct me to them. Consequently, the piece makes far more sense.

Enjoy the copy, most of which seems somewhat accurate if the rest appears rather fanciful. (I have never heard a story about Carole and her brothers appearing in a mid-1910s western, or that Lombard had the opportunity to tour with the Denishawn dancers.) And enjoy the attractive photos, too.
