"No One Man," Carole Lombard's first top-billed vehicle at Paramount, premiered in early 1932 amid fair-to-middling reviews at best which lauded Lombard more for her wardrobe than for her acting. (She's shown with Paul Lukas in this still.) Perhaps this clipping from a fan magazine of the time is indicative of the reaction:

From left, Lombard looks great in a white crepe romain gown, sexy in a two-piece swimsuit with cape (white jersey trimmed with balls of yarn), then concludes the white trifecta with a dazzling white jacket atop a black crepe evening gown. Splendid summer wear for Florida, California or anywhere else in the early '30s, and none would appear that out of place today. Later that year, the swimsuit image was used for an advertisement:

You can purchase the clipping straight up for $4.99. Go to http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carole-Lombard-Clipping-original-magazine-photo-1pg-8x10-R3323-/381244923459?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58c3f7de43 to learn more.

Carole looks STUNNING in that still you posted. The camera really loves her, doesn't it?

Also, loved that Best Foods Mayonnaise ad you posted. Who knew mayo was good for "nerve and muscle tissue"?! ;)
