Lombard stills to Dyar for

Of late we've been discussing the people who helped provide Carole Lombard with her glamour, and today we'll review some pictures of her taken at Paramount by a photographer named Otto Dyar.

Not much is known about Dyar. A cinematographer in the early 1920s, he was a still photographer at Paramount from the mid-twenties, taking pictures of the likes of Clara Bow, to 1933, when he left for more money as head of the portrait department at Fox; he apparently continued there through its merger with Darryl F. Zanuck's Twentieth Century films. In the late forties and early fifties, he resurfaced at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, with his last recorded work comimg in 1953.
