Carole Lombard wore that dress for "No Man Of Her Own" in 1932, and when it came up for auction a few years ago, its background was proven through a tag (http://carole-and-co.livejournal.com/348873.html):

Another item of Lombard clothing, this time a suit, has surfaced for Friday and Saturday's "Icons & Idols" auction by Julien's of Beverly Hills (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyoM6qNVjgE):

It too has an atelier tag from the studio:

Here's more information about the outfit:

That pic doesn't appear to have come from the catalog, you're thinking. That's because I went to Julien's earlier today and took some photos of the suit (with permission of the staff). Here it is from a few differing angles:

Note there should be a center in the skirt, as is the case with the mannequin in the catalog.
Precisely which film Lombard wore this suit in was uncertain to the staff, as well as to me. Someone there thought it may have been seen here...

...and although "The Gay Bride" was an MGM film, it's entirely possible the Paramount fashion crew may have created a suit for her to wear in this film (when filming "My Man Godfrey" for Universal two years later, Carole's gowns and other clothes were designed by Paramount's Travis Banton).
Julien's has experience selling Lombard items; earlier this year, it auctioned this 1931 pale green Banton gown:

The gown's estimated value was $5,000-$7,000 -- however, it went for $34,375! (If that's the case for the suit, it could go for far more than its maximum estimated value of $1,200.)
