I had a delightful time this morning, taking the Hollywood Forever cemetery tour conducted by Karie Bible -- 2 1/2 hours of informative fun, well worth the $15. More on that tomorrow, but for now, a picture of Carole Lombard I've never seen before.
The seller labels it a "rarely-seen pose," a claim I won't dispute; the C.P. in the lower left-hand corner indicates it's from Columbia Pictures, and the outfit Carole's wearing (not to mention the plenty of leg she's showing) make it almost certain this is a publicity still for "Lady By Choice," the last of five films she made for Harry Cohn's studio, where she plays fan dancer Alabam' Lee. Here's another pic from that film as proof:
Of the top pic, the seller adds, "Not a reproduction; image is especially sharp. No bent corners; no credits on the back."
Bids begin at $12, and the auction closes at 1:15 p.m. (Eastern) Saturday.
