As in Loretta Young, shown below offering best wishes to Carole Lombard, who was serving as guest editor for the April 1936 issue of Screen Book. Loretta's daughter-in-law, Linda Lewis, and her husband, Christopher Lewis, have done yeoman work in promoting her fine career and achievements, such as in the late January centennial (plus one year) salute at the Alex Theater in Glendale, Calif.

Couldn't make it, or was it too far away? Good news -- you're getting a second chance of sorts. This time, it's on the east coast of Florida, specifically the area called the Treasure Coast and at the Lyric Theater in the town of Stuart. The Lyric, built in the 1920s, now is on the National Register of Historic Places...

Four movies are scheduled, including three from the late 1940s when Loretta was at her box office peak. At 7 p.m. April 25, there's "The Farmer's Daughter," a 1947 romantic comedy with Joseph Cotten for which Young won the Academy Award for best actress...

..."The Stranger" (1946), with Orson Welles (who also directed) and Edward G. Robinson at 2 p.m. April 26...

...and at 2 p.m. April 27, the beloved "The Bishop's Wife" (1947), with Cary Grant and David Niven:

The only pre-Code film on the list is one of her best (and reportedly Loretta's favorite performance from that period), "Midnight Mary" (1933), directed by William Wellman and co-starring Franchot Tone, Una Merkel and Ricardo Cortez. It will run at 5 p.m. April 26:

At 5 p.m. April 27, the Lewises will host "A Conversation About Loretta Young," featuring film and television clips, home movies and more. (They also will discuss each film following its screening.)

A variety of ticket plans are available, from $15 for individual screenings to $90 for a weekend pass plus dinner package (the pass alone costs $40). It promises to be a fun weekend and a fine way to learn more about the actress labeled "Hollywood's most glamorous leading lady."
