Four publicity stills from Carole Lombard films are being auctioned at eBay, such as the one above from "Brief Moment," where Lombard tries to rouse wealthy wastrel husband Gene Raymond out of bed. The three others have some sort of information on the back -- they are from "Swing High, Swing Low"...

..."Nothing Sacred"...

...and "Fools For Scandal" (the last two feature stamps from the library of the San Francisco Examiner, then part of the Hearst chain):

Note the marking on the back of the "Fools For Scandal" still, noting that it was playing at the St. Francis Theatre beginning April 21 (of 1938). Wanting to learn more about this theater and hoping to find a picture of the place, I checked http://cinematreasures.org. Not only did I find a photo, but look what was playing!

Alas, the St. Francis, on Market Street, closed in 2001 after being divided into a multi-screen house, and was demolished this spring to make way for a shopping mall.
The "Brief Moment" photo has an opening bid of $7.99, while the other three begin at $6.99. Bidding on all four closes at about 9:20 p.m. (Eastern) Monday. Our old friend baseballguy1 is selling the items; to bid or find out more, visit http://www.ebay.com/sch/Movie-Memorabilia-/196/m.html?_ipg=&_from=&_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ssn=baseballguy1.
