Advancing -- but now, a new challenge

First, the good news: Carole Lombard posted an easier-than-expected 61-21 triumph over Myrna Loy in the finals of the "Funny Ladies" division of the 1930s bracket of the 2013 Favorite Classic Movie Actress Tourney. Now, the challenging news: Carole's opponent in one of the 1930s semifinals is none other than Joan Blondell, who posted three impressive triumphs en route to winning the "Singers/Dancers" division. She will be a tough foe. Voting has begun, and as of 1:15 a.m. (Eastern), Lombard has a 7-4 lead. The other semi pits "They Had Faces" champ Greta Garbo vs. "Pre-Code Babes" winner Barbara Stanwyck, who is currently ahead 9-2.
