Here's a Carole Lombard Paramount portrait that's not a part of the p1202 series, specifically because it was used in the publicity package of the 1931 film "Ladies' Man," in which Carole appears with soon-to-be husband William Powell and soon-to-be longtime friend Kay Francis ("1301," listed in the bottom right-hand corner, was the movie's code number). While Lombard -- still learning her craft -- frankly isn't all that good in "Ladies' Man," you'd never know it from this attractive, if somewhat austere, pose.
The seller doesn't indicate whether it's a vintage photo or a reproduction, but he or she knows it's from 1931, so it well could be an original. (Either that, or the seller has a keen sense of how Lombard appeared over the years.) Bidding begins at $8.99, and bids close at 9:13 p.m. (Eastern) on Sunday. If you collect vintage Lombard 8" x 10"s, this glossy might be for you.
