It's time -- cast your vote for Carole!

It's time to do Carole Lombard a favor. Go to http://mythicalmonkey.blogspot.com and vote for her in the first round of the "Funny Ladies" division of the Silents/1930s competition at the 2012 Favorite Classic Movie Actress Tourney. Lombard's facing old "My Man Godfrey" rival Gail Patrick, and while Lombard is off to an early lead, she knows from her tennis experience never to rest on her laurels. Time for Team Carole to mobilize!

While you're there, also vote in the division's other three matches:

#2 Myrna Loy vs. #7 Margaret Dumont
#3 Jean Harlow vs. #6 Marie Dressler
#4 Jean Arthur vs. #5 Margaret Sullavan

Voting concludes at 10 p.m. (Eastern) on Saturday.

Results from the first part of the first round are in, and in the "They Had Faces" division, Mary Pickford and Clara Bow each withstood stiff challenges. Second-seeded Pickford outlasted fellow early Academy Award winner Janet Gaynor, barely topping the seventh seed, 47-45. Number-four Bow pulled away from fifth seed Louise Brooks at the end for a 50-43 triumph. Elsewhere, top seed Greta Garbo easily disposed of #8 Anna May Wong, 79-13, and #6 Gloria Swanson surprised #3 Lillian Gish, 53-40.

Things weren't quite as tight in the other division:
