From Mr. Glassner, 'In Name Only'

Many Carole Lombard fans rank her RKO drama "In Name Only" -- which was making the rounds of theaters 72 years ago this week -- among their favorites. Now, six rare original publicity stills from the film are available for purchase, and for that, we can thank a man who would likely be a first-ballot selection into a collector's hall of fame if one existed.

His name was Lester Glassner, and he died in August 2009 at age 70 -- but by the time of his death, he had become to collecting pop culture was to William Randolph Hearst and collecting classic art. Over the years, he had amassed an amazing array of items, including a quarter of a million movie stills, and hundreds of posters, the latter of which he donated to the Library of Congress. One of them was this lobby card for Carole's 1933 film, "From Hell To Heaven":

Getting back to "In Name Only": These pictures originally were sent from RKO to Look magazine; in fact, the film's tentative title, "Memory Of Love," can be found on the back of each one. All photos are 7" x 9" and in excellent to mint condition.

Here are the other five. First, co-star Cary Grant drives a blindfolded Lombard:

Two of Lombard with Peggy Ann Garner -- first, Cary, Carole and Peggy Ann go on a horse and buggy ride, followed by a Christmas scene with mother and daughter:

Finally, two more of Carole and Kay; the latter also features Charles Coburn and Nella Walker:

Each of these photos is being sold straight up for $35.
