Blogathon update...including new banners!

That's Carole Lombard reviewing photos as part of her work as "guest editor" for the April 1936 issue of Screen Book magazine. Since we announced Monday that "Carole & Co." would be sponsoring the first-ever Lombard blogathon this October, officially called "Carole-tennial(+3)!" in recognition of the 103rd anniversary of Lombard's birth Oct. 6, we've been getting our share of responses and then some. As of this writing, here are the folks who have agreed to participate:

* caroleirene from "An Elegant Obsession" (http://goldenagedames.wordpress.com); she'll write about Lombard as fashion icon, probably for Oct. 7. (The blogathon runs from Thursday, Oct. 6 to Sunday, Oct. 9.)
* maryagates from "Cinema Fanatic" (http://cinema-fanatic.com).
* flickchick1953 from "A Person In The Dark" (http://flickchick1953.blogspot.com), the first who asked to write about "Twentieth Century" and plans it for Oct. 7.
* brian from "Classic Film Boy's Movie Paradise" (http://www.classicfilmboy.com).
* angela from "Hollywood Revue" (http://hollywoodrevue.wordpress.com), who's hosting a blog of her own, "Fashion In Film," on Sept. 24. (I'll be participating with something Lombard-related.)

* ladyevesidwich from "The Lady Eve's Reel Life" (http://eves-reel-life.blogspot.com).
* mythicalmonkey from "A Mythical Monkey Writes About The Movies" (http://mythicalmonkey.blogspot.com), who'll probably be writing on Lombard in the silent era.
* stacia from "She Blogged By Night" (http://shebloggedbynight.com), who likely will write on "Hands Across The Table," as it ties in with her Marie Prevost project.
* john greco from "Twenty FOur Frames" (http://twentyfourframes.wordpress.com), who will write on "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" on Oct. 7.
* ivan shreve of "Thrilling Days Of Yesteryear" (http://www.thrillingdaysofyesteryear.blogspot.com), who will write about "Virtue" (Lombard's 1932 film for Columbia, that is, not a philosophical or ethical discussion!).
* anna from "Defiant Success" (http://movienut14.blogspot.com).
* dawn from "Noir And Chick Flicks" (http://dawnschickflicks.blogspot.com).
* jacqueline t. lynch from "Another Old Movie Blog" (http://anotheroldmovieblog.blogspot.com).
* laura of "Laura's Miscellaneous Musings" (http://www.laurasmisc.musings.blogspot.com) plans to write on Oct. 8 about Carole's connection to the Kimberly family of Redlands, Calif.

That's 14 so far, but we can always use more. (And there's plenty of time to prepare, since we're about 2 1/2 months away from the opening day of the blogathon.) If you'd like to join in the fun, respond to this entry, let me know your ID and what blog you're from (with a URL if possible), and we'll take it from there. (Oh, and I also apologize in advance for giving everyone the e.e. cummings treatment, but I was simply trying to be equitable.)

On Monday, I furnished five banners to promote "Carole-tennial(+3)!"; several of them are already making the rounds of the blogosphere. Not entirely satisfied with my results, I've come up with five more, and personally I believe this batch is superior and more legible. Here they are:
