A vintage 1930s pattern, Hollywood Patterns #681, is now being auctioned at eBay. The dress can be made in two lengths, size 18 (bust, 36"; hip, 39"), which probably equates to a different dress size today. All 13 pieces and instructions are in the package.
Judging from the photo of Lombard used on the front of the pattern, I'm guessing this comes from about 1934 or so. No one has bid on this as of yet; bidding begins at $79.99, and bids close at 9:23 a.m. (Eastern) on Wednesday.
If you want to bid or are simply curious to see more, go to http://cgi.ebay.com/CAROLE-LOMBARD-Hollywood-Pattern-No-681-Dress-COMPLETE-/190400034394?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c54b9f65a. I know many women who visit this site are fans of 1930s styles, and here's a chance for you to create a dress inspired by Lombard herself -- a dress that's still alluring three-quarters of a century later.
