A sextet in sepia

This is Carole Lombard in Paramount p1202-1323, from late 1936 or early '37. It's one of six original pics of her now up for auction in sepia, looking something like this:

Here are several close-ups:

And here is the back:

I don't know the size of any of these photos, by the way.

This photo has an opening bid of $175, with the auction closing at 8:39 p.m. (Eastern) Thursday. To bid or learn more, go to

This is p1202-1563, one of many showing Lombard with her beloved Palomino gelding Pico. I don't believe I've seen this one before:

Its initial bid is $200, with the auction closing at 8:08 p.m. (Eastern) Friday.

A Paramount pic from a few years earlier shows Carole in a sailor suit:

Bids for this open at $200, with the auction closing at 8:12 p.m. (Eastern) Friday. Get additional info at

The cheapest of the six, at least for opening bids, is this 1933 image of Lombard in a dark gown. It begins at $150:

This auction closes at 8:02 p.m. (Eastern) Friday. Bid or learn more at

The other two photos have substantially higher initial bids. This Paramount pic by Don English, showing Carole posing near a window (during her marriage to William Powell, I believe), has an initial bid of $500:

The particulars are at

Finally, a pic of Carole from her Pathe days, as she wears a sweater with the studio's famed rooster mascot:

Its opening bid is slightly cheaper -- by one penny ($499.99). The auction ends at 9:07 p.m. (Eastern) Thursday. Interested? Go to
