From an early RKO session




Soon after Carole Lombard signed with RKO in early 1939, she worked on a session with studio photographer Ernest Bachrach, no stranger to Hollywood glamour (his prior subjects included Ginger Rogers and Katharine Hepburn). Two samples of that session -- further proof Lombard's style transcended whichever studio she happened to be at -- are shown above; here's a third:

From the George Smoots collection, this photo measures 8" x 10" and is listed in excellent condition.
