I know many who enjoy dressing up in 1930s attire worn by Carole Lombard and other stars. Here's a reasonably inexpensive way to pull it off -- use a vintage pattern and make it yourself.

We've written extensively on one firm of the era, Hollywood Pattern (https://carole-and-co.livejournal.com/533166.html). A pattern featured in that entry, written more than seven years ago, has re-emerged on eBay. Here's Hollywood Pattern 969:

Such patterns, with instructions f included, capture '30s chic without having to spend on vintage clothes. "And Carole Lombard... what more could a golden age screen fan want?" Indeed.

Back in the day, this pattern cost 15 cents; the opening bid for this auction is $20. Bidding closes at 11:01 p.m. (Eastern) next Thursday.
