It's back, and cheap (for now)

Above is Carole Lombard's Paramount p1202-1478, taken by Eugene Robert Richee about 1936. We've run this image before, but another version of it just surfaced at eBay:

As you can tell, this one is vintage and shows its age. Here's how the seller describes it:

"1st generation silver gelatin. In fine condition with some scratches and creases here and there. There is some sepia staining here and there as well. The photo is sepia tone from age. The photo has been cut down for press purposes. The photo is in nice resolution and focus. Much sharper than the scan shows. Great item for the movie fan."

So it may not be in mint condition, but it's a vintage Lombard photo in reasonably good shape. Who can complain about that? (It's from the noted collection of the late Hugh Pickett, whom we've discussed before.)

As of this writing, two bids have been made, the higher at $6.49. That would be a bargain if bidding ended right this minute. Alas, the auction isn't scheduled to end until 9:53 p.m. (Eastern) Aug. 1, so who knows how high bids may go?
