Some eBay items

It's always fun to see what Carole Lombard memorabilia items are being auctioned or sold at eBay; currently there are more than 1,600. Here are a few of note:

The header on this mistakenly lists this as a 1928 photo of Carole, which it clearly isn't (it was a typo, as the sublisting shows it as a 1938 item, probably made to promote either "Fools For Scandal" at Warners or her upcoming "Made For Each Other" at Selznick International). It's 7" x 5.5", an image I've never seen before, and can be yours for $29.99 under the "buy it now" option at

Here's a rather goofy, if endearing, image to promote MGM's "The Gay Bride" (and if this is how the studio perceived Lombard's glamour, no wonder she called this her worst picture!). Nice polka-dot dress, though; it really shows off her figure.

This is also a "buy it now" item ($29.99). Go to for more.

This is a lobby card from Columbia's "No More Orchids," showing Lombard with co-star Lyle Talbot. It's deemed in "very good" condition, and the seller is asking $500 for it as a "buy it now" item. (Imagine what the asking price would be were it in mint condition.) If you're interested, or simply want to learn more, go to

And finally, Lux presents care, that is. The soap company, which had long tied itself into cinematic glamour, put out this brochure in the 1930s featuring Lombard, Ginger Rogers, Grace Moore and others. It measures 6" x 3" folded, and can be yours for $14.99; as with the other items here, you buy, not bid. Go to
