The above is a picture of Carole Lombard with Paramount cohort Claudette Colbert, along with Clark Gable and Frank Capra. (While Colbert's outfit makes one believe it was taken at the time of "It Happened One Night" in 1934, it probably comes from 1939, when Gable and Colbert teamed up for a radio adaptation of the story on "Lux Radio Theater." Clark and Carole were not an item in 1934.)
Seeing Lombard and Colbert together begs the question -- imagine them in each other's films. So let's try that with 12 of Carole's contemporaries; put Lombard in one of their films, and conversely them in one of Carole's. (However, for fairness' sake, these films must have been made no later than 1941.)
