It's hard to believe that Goldie Hawn -- one of the greatest of comic actresses, and a worthy heir to the Carole Lombard tradition -- turns 75 today. An incredible talent who has spread joy to millions, both on and off screen, Hawn has been part of our culture for more than half a century. I adore her for so many reasons -- her beauty, brains and business sense.

While she hasn't been fully active as an actress since the early 2000s, Hawn has occasionally worked. On the docket for her shortly is a followup to the 1996 hit "The First Wives Club," reuniting Goldie with Bette Midler and Diane Keaton. But this week, Hawn and longtime main squeeze Kurt Russell join forces for the holidays via Netflix. It's their first sustained joint appearance on screen since the original "Overboard" in 1987.

In 2018's "The Christmas Chronicles," Hawn had a cameo as Mrs. Claus to Russell's Santa. In "The Christmas Chronicles 2," both play significant roles as the Clauses learn of a plot to destroy the holiday forever. The film premiered this past Wednesday at The Grove upscale shopping center in Los Angeles, where Kurt gave Goldie a celebratory pre-birthday kiss. (Lucky guy.)

"Christmas Chronicles 2" is currently in limited theatrical release (drive-ins) before Netflix gives it general release this Wednesday (Thanksgiving eve). We can give thanks for this cinematic cup of holiday cheer, directed by Chris Columbus of "Home Alone" fame. And happy birthday, Goldie, from a man who in the 1970s regularly rode a bus near the neighborhood in Takoma Park, Md. where you grew up. Here's a pre-fame teenage Hawn in 1964, enjoying a hamburger...

...and years later, now a star and relaxing with showbiz royalty Nancy Sinatra and Liza Minnelli:
