Carole Lombard offers a fetching come-hither look -- in a swimsuit, no less -- on the cover of the July 1935 Rexall magazine. The alliance of local drug stores, dominant in the pharmaceutical industry, published this monthly; copies were sent to scores of pharmacies. This went to a drug store in Hemlock, Mich., about 15 miles west of Saginaw. (I visited relatives in Saginaw in the summer of 1963, about the time I turned eight.)

The cover referred to an analysis of Lombard's handwriting. What did the magazine learn?

As you can see, we don't have all of the article...but there's a way to see it in full. Purchase the magazine, now up for auction at eBay. The issue measures 7 1/2" x 10", is said to be in fine condition, with faint creases you might expect from a publication some 85 years old.
Bids begin at $9.99, with the auction set to close at 8:15 p.m. (Eastern) Wednesday. If you're interested, place a bid or find out more at https://www.ebay.com/itm/CAROLE-LOMBARD-Sexy-Cheesecake-Cover-of-The-REXALL-Magazine-July-1935/203148329808?hash=item2f4c958350:g:YBEAAOSwd~lfkH5B.
