Carole and Fay, looking fashionable

Until today, this image from the August 1931 issue of Motion Picture magazine was the only joint image I knew of Carole Lombard and Fay Wray, then both on Paramount Pictures' roster. But now, I've come across this:

It's an 8" x 10" print, not original, and looks to be from the early '30s. I wish I could tell you more about it, but for now, no.

Wray and Lombard later would have ties to fabled screenwriter Robert Riskin ("It Happened One Night"), whom Carole dated in between Russ Columbo and Clark Gable, turning down his marriage proposal. Fay, at one time married to troubled aviation scribe John Monk Saunders, would marry Riskin in the 1940s.

One person who might know more about this is Victoria Riskin, daughter from the Riskin-Wray marriage. She wrote a well-received book about her famed parents in 2019.

The Lombard-Wray image is printed on high-quality double-weight paper, and you can barely make out the "images from history" watermark. The photo of these legends sells for $15.99, and you can get it by going to https://www.ebay.com/itm/8x10-Print-Fay-Wray-Carole-Lombard-Beautiful-Fashion-Portrait-FWCL/193592296436?hash=item2d130003f4:g:UzUAAOSwUxxfGkez.
