Two more from Hollywood Paper

In recent days, we've been running quite a few vintage Carole Lombard photos from the eBay seller "hollywoodpaper." These portraits are normally above $100 to either buy or bid for, though their value is deserved for both their rarity and (usually) their quality. We have a pair of additional examples in today's entry.

We'll start with this one, a near mint quality doubleweight; Lombard's hair shows it's almost certainly from the early 1930s:

I've seen that dress before, I thought, but where? Doing some research, I saw it in a publicity still for Lombard's film "No One Man"...

...and both photos had an "873" identification number on the outside border. So both of these pictures were taken in late 1931 or the start of 1932. The only blemishes, according to the seller, are "a tiny tan chemical stain on the pillar at the right side of the photo, and a few very minor indentations." Other than that, it's in phenomenal condition for a photo that's slightly more than eight decades old.

This is available for $169.95 straight up. If you'd prefer to bid, it begins at $149.95, with bids closing at 10:32 p.m. (Eastern) Thursday. Does it pique your interest? If so, visit http://www.ebay.com/itm/GORGEOUS-SEXY-CAROLE-LOMBARD-NEAR-MINT-DBLWT-DIED-AT-33-IN-PLANE-CRASH-/170823954741?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27c5e6b135 for more.

The next photo may be even older, if the background is indicative. The one being sold is on the left, with the picture on the right merely for comparison:

The second photo is publicity for Lombard's initial Paramount film, "Safety In Numbers," meaning these images are of Carole in the spring of 1930, at age 21.

The portrait for sale measures 7 1/4" x 9 1/2", with borders trimmed, and is linen-backed. While it's in very good+ condition and is slightly smaller than the other being sold, its relative rarity makes it more valuable. To buy it, you'll have to shell out $299.95, or if you prefer, bid beginning at $269.95. The bids for this end at 10:36 p.m. (Eastern) Thursday. You can place your bid, or learn more, at http://www.ebay.com/itm/CAROLE-LOMBARD-FANTASTIC-ART-DECO-GLAMOR-PORTRAIT-LINEN-BACKED-NICE-SHAPE-/320887383406?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab660e56e.

We eagerly await more Lombard goodies from this seller.
