Anyone for chicken?

A new photo of Carole Lombard and Clark Gable as chicken farmers has emerged, complete with an RKO snipe on the back (with that curious typewriter we've seen from other Lombard RKO pics) and is now available at eBay.

Wait a second, you say -- haven't I seen that photo somewhere before? Well, perhaps you're confusing it with this:

Note that Clark and Carole are in different positions, and it's obviously not a "flipped" photo, either. Both were probably taken at the same time, in the summer of 1939, as was this one:

The Gables' poultry business, "The King's Eggs," laid a figurative one, and the couple concentrated on their day jobs.

Two bids have been made at eBay for the top photo, with the high bid at $15.50; bidding concludes at 11:13 p.m. (Eastern) on Wednesday. This week's header at LiveJournal shows Lombard with her first husband, William Powell, checking out the horses in "Man Of The World" -- something Carole enjoyed in real life with both of her spouses.
